Recently Oneplus Launched its new phone Oneplus 7 Pro, the phone comes with a full screen curved display design, with few unique features and claimed to be a true flagship, let’s find out.
Performance – There is no doubt regarding performance, phone is a beast and has best in class processor, Snapdragon 855, which is clocked higher than any other processors in the market (close competitors are Kirin 980, Exynos 9820 and Apple A12 Bionic), phone is packed with 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM. you do not need to worry about performance, it is best in the market.
Camera – Here you should worry a bit, because the phone has Sony IMX 586 sensor (do not get me wrong, it a very good sensor), which is same as Redmi Note 7 Pro, however the image processing and integrated software are different so the image quality will be different from Redmi Note 7 Pro and overall image quality is good but do not expect the quality similar to Pixel 3 or Samsung S10 or S10 Plus. The phone has triple cameras (48 MP, f/1.6, (wide), 1/2″, 0.8ยตm, Laser/PDAF, OIS, 16 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide) and 8 MP, f/2.4, 78mm (telephoto), 3x zoom, Laser/PDAF, OIS ) in back and single sensor in front. Oneplus can improve performance through software updates over time.
Display – This is the main highlight of the phone, Oneplus 7 Pro is featured with 90 Hz Quad HD display (1440 * 3120, 516 PPI density), the display also supports DCI-P3 and HDR 10+, for gaming also display is fluid and very responsive and it is difficult to find this kind of display in the market at this price range.
Build Quality – Oneplus 7 Pro has an amazing build quality, the phone comes with Gorilla Glass 6 (front and back) and metal frame, there are no compromises in the build quality and you can trust the durability and build quality.
Battery Performance – Battery is the main concern, based on numbers, 4000 mAh looks great, however, the phone has 6.67 inches screen which is QHD as well as 90 Hz and both consumes a lot of battery power. There is an option to reduce the refresh rate to 60 Hz which will increase the battery performance. Overall battery performance is pretty average and if you are looking for a phone with good battery performance I will not recommend this. There is a plus side too, the phone comes with VooC Charging support, and it charges super fast (I am not throwing any numbers here, it varies situation to situation).
Unique Selling Points- The phone comes with UFS 3.0 storage, so applications shall launch very fast, and overall fast storage helps in smooth and swift performance. UFS 3.0 along with SD 855 which has Adreno 640 GPU helps in great gaming performance too. You will see less heating issues as the processor is based on 7nm technology and the phone has an advanced cooling system, but these days advance cooling is a buzz word. 90Hz QHD display helps phone in standing out from other products. I never discussed front pop up camera, because it is gimmicky and hyped to me.
Product Value – The phone starts from around 50k INR or โฌ699 and considering the performance and build quality it scores very high in delivering value to the customers, and yes phone is a beast and will surely give competition to Samsung, Apple, Huawei and other top-selling brands, the only downside of the phone is its battery performance which can be a deal breaker for many people.
Thanks for reading the article and stay tuned for the next one ๐ Cheers ๐
