The mobile phone market is becoming diversified in nature, getting a lot of brands such as Mi, Vivo, Oppo, Samsung, Motorola, Realme etc. for customers. These brands are coming up with a variety of products, some of them are camera-centric, some of them are battery centric and now products such as Redmi Note 7 Pro has a balance between a great performance, good camera, battery performance etc.

Good phones are getting cheaper and cheap phones are getting better so a big question comes, do you really need an expensive phone or a flagship phone? The phones are mostly usable for 2-3 years in some cases more than three years as well and this is true for a flagship as well as a mid-range phone. So is it worth spending $900-1000 for a phone? My answer is – it depends. If you are a heavy mobile phone user and take professional photos, play high-end games and need an amazing product experience, you definitely should go for top-end phones.

But if you want a decent phone with balanced performance and do not care a lot about best in class performance, you should go for a mid-range phone. Mid range phone for example Redmi note 7 pro, gives decent performance, which is good enough for most of the users.

When it comes to camera performance, these mid-range phones are doing an excellent job and giving tough fight to these top-end phones. Now if we talk about value delivery, I believe these mid-range phones are delivering better value (cost-benefit) than top-end phones. People buy top end phones and then do not use it up to its best performance or capabilities. If a customer does not use a phone for its actual capabilities, I do not see any reason to invest a lot. As stated above, phones nowadays work very well for 2-3 years (depend on usage), so why not just take a decent phone and save some money.

The major advantage of these mid-range phones is their balanced performance. They give very good battery life, deliver decent performance, decent camera, durable design and for all this, a customer pays very less, so “if you are not a heavy user”, try mid-range phones, do not take me wrong all flagships are excellent and they are best in class but it comes with a huge cost.

So the conclusion is, mid-range phones are becoming great and companies are investing a lot and doing a great job to deliver great values to customers. People who never tried these phones, should try once.

Thanks for reading this article and stay tuned for the upcoming ones, Cheers 🙂
