Qualcomm recently launched their new chipset 712 which is a successor of 710. Snapdragon 712 is just a minor update on Snapdragon 710 in terms of clock speed and charging. Both the processors are based on Kryo 360 CPU, 10 nm Process Technology, come with Adreno 616 GPU. Then what is the difference? Is it significant?

1- SD 710 can clock up-to 2.2 GHz wherein SD 712 can go up-to 2.3 GHz, which is a minor difference and as per Qualcomm, it gives 10 percent performance increase. Not a big deal as per me. A regular user will never be able to distinguish the difference

2- The main difference is in the charging technology, SD 710 supports Quick charge 4 wherein SD 712 supports Quick charge 4+

Apart from these two differences, there is no major difference, both chipsets support the same Image Processing, Memory modules, Modem, and Visual Subsystem.

The changes are not significant however performance increase and improved charging are good additions to Snapdragon 710.

Thanks for reading the article, Cheers 🙂
