Honor V20 vs Oneplus 6T, Detailed Comparison

This may be the most confusing question for most buyers want to get a new smartphone. I am going to answer this question. Both the phones are the best value for money devices and will definitely last longer than you think. And you will not regret buying any of these.

Your purchase will depend on your requirements, so let’s start with Honor V20. Honor V20 comes with HiSilicon Kirin 980 (2x Cortex-A76 @ 2.6GHz, 2x Cortex-A76 @ 1.92GHz & 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.8GHz), which is a 7nm processor and should be working slightly faster as compared to Oneplus 6T if not marginally. A normal customer will not even notice the difference. Honor V20 has 8 GB RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB storage options. Comes with an amazing and classy design.

Oneplus features Snapdragon 845 processor which comes with Kryo cores (4XKryo 835 – Cortex A75 @ 2.8 GHz & 4x Kryo 835 – Cortex A55 @ 1.7GHz), so if you look at the specs sheet for processor Kirin 980 should be faster and that shows in Geekbench as well. In single core Honor V20 beats Oneplus 6T marginally.

Honor v20 comes with 4MB shared L3 cache as compared to 2 MB shared L3 cache. So performance wise Honor V20 should be your choice, don’t get me wrong Oneplus 6T is a solid performer and has better graphical performance (Adreno 630) but with Honor V20 also you will get good gaming performance, thanks to GPU Turbo. So my pick would be Honor V20.

If we talk design, It will be one’s personal preference, You can check images below and design. Honor V20 looks amazing but Oneplus 6T looks professional to me. Both phones look great.

Let’s compare battery, Honor V20 has 4000 mah as compared to 3700 mah in OnePlus. Because of Honor’s aggressive RAM management, Honor’s battery last longer than Oneplus, so if you need a phone with better battery performance, go with Honor V20.

Coming to display quality, AMOLED is better than LCD panel. Honor V20 has 6.4 inches LCD panel wherein Oneplus has 6.41 inch AMOLED panel, with hands down Oneplus has better display because of its deep darks and pop up colors Honor V20 also has good color accuracy and an excellent LCD panel.

Now let’s talk about Software. Oneplus runs on Oxygen OS which is similar to the Stock Android with some good added features wherein Honor V20 runs on Magic OS (a customized skin), both runs on Android 9.0. But looking at the simplistic look and smooth operations of Oxygen and Oneplus clearly wins the battle with Honor V20. Honor definitely improved their skins as compared to their previous versions and comes with a lot of good features. If need to pick one, I will go for Oxygen OS, because of Oneplus’ fast software update service, buttery smooth experience.

Most of the rest important components such as Bluetooth, wifi etc. are almost similar and you will not have any issues due to this.

Verdict – If your preferences are looks, performance, good battery go for Honor V20. If your preferences are professional design, better display, good gaming performance and amazing software experience go for Oneplus 6T.
